VICTORIAN DECORATED ART NOUVEAU STYLE KEROSENE ASTRAL BANQUET LAMP, opaque white with gilt decorated cartouches and four-point stars, opaque white slightly tapered stem, cast-brass base with openwork loops to the lower stem, double-step square foot with underside of cast-iron weight impressed ABBOT", brass connector and Argand air-flow mechanism and connector with stylized ornamentation, No. 2 brass collar. Fitted with an E. F. Jones No. 2 lip burner, thumbwheel impressed "E. F. JONES/ BOSTON / PATENT / JANUARY 11. 1859." and with a wing symbol, interior fitted with a Merrill's air director, marked "R. S. MERRILL'S PATENT. JUNE 14. 1859", a stamped brass 5 1/4" D shade ring, and a colorless and frosted Oregon shade with engraved foliage. Non-period colorless chimney with frosted finish to lower body. Second half 19th century. 31 1/8" HOA to top of shade, 21 3/4" H to top of collar, 6 3/8" SQ foot. Shade 8 1/4" HOA, 4 7/8" D fitter.

Excellent condition, lamp undamaged and with expected wear, some losses to decoration. Burner with de-attached thumbrest to the chimney securing tab, shade fitter with a chip and a flake, chimney undamaged.
