VIRGINIA ATTRIBUTED "MARTHA'S VINEYARD" VARIATION APPLIQUE AND TRAPUNTO QUILT, hand-stitched, center featuring two interwoven grapevines in an oval arrangement with stuffed work / trapunto purple or pink and yellow grapes and embroidered detailing, applied scalloped border to all four edges, having outline, diagonal, plume wreath, plume stem, and floret quilting, front-over-back binding, two-paneled plain backing. Per consignor, possibly attributed to Louisa, Rappahannock, or Orange Co., VA. Circa 1930. 65" x 92".
Condition
Very good overall condition except for some areas of toning and stains.
Sold to benefit the acquisitions and conservation funds of a private Virginia museum.
