WEST VIRGINIA STENCILED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, designated ten-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, flat-top rounded rim, beaded neck ring, incised shoulder ring, large applied arched handles, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "A. CONRAD. / SHINNSTON. / W.VA.", additional scroll and foliate decorative ornaments, brushed cobalt stripe to neck, additional cobalt to handle terminals. Circa 1890. 20 3/8" H, 11 5/8" D rim.

Undamaged, except having some drip stains to one area and scattered glaze wear.
