WEST VIRGINIA STENCILED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, designated two-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, flat-top rounded rim, beaded neck ring, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "WARNER & RUSSELL / BRIDGEPORT W.VA.", additional arrow and diamond decorative ornaments, and slip-trailed "2". Circa 1875. 11 5/8" H, 7 3/4" DOA rim.
Provenance: Property from the estate of Clarence and Coralena Smith, Romney, WV.
Mostly undamaged, having faint curved hairline extending from base on back.
